The Chelan 120 is a premium choice for all types of paddling. The unique combination of rugged Duratex™ tube construction with a drop-stitch, hard-bottom floor results in a rigid and responsive open cockpit inflatable kayak. Regardless of skill level, the Chelan 120 is capable of traditional hard-shell kayak performance for years of worry-free effortless paddling.
Compared with the pervious version, rocker lines have been carefully tweaked for even better touring performance. Also new are the enhanced gear storage and thoughtful customisable options that outdoor enthusiasts will love!

Please note re the scupper drains in the above review - you need them all opened and to be on moving water for them to be efficient. If open on still, flat water, water will rise to the deck level. They only ever need to be open if you're expecting rapids or waves to enter your boat.

Bought this almost a year ago and regularly use in the harbour. Handles chop from the harbour traffic pretty well and tracks well into the wind. Hope to give it a go in the surf at some stage.

Very happy with the kayak. It performs well on lake Burrumbeet and in the creek. Have yet to try in choppy water in the ocean bay.
Very slight disappointment at one or two small manufacturing/production marks on the side tubes (these marks have been mentioned in reviews on other sites, and they don't seem to be apparent in the official AG videos); however they don't seem to affect the kayak, and don't appear to be a weakness - the side tubes have been inflated to full psi and it looks ok, but who knows in a year or two down the track. For an expensive kayak, it is a negative.
The bag is good quality and roomy, and I find the seat comfy for hours at a time (slightly deflated).

Launched my Chelan 120 today and it's just what I wanted. It feels stable and moves smoothly and quite straight. It's easy to get in and out, even with my dodgy knees. The seat is really comfortable and you can let air out while sitting on it until you get it "not to hard, not to soft, but juuuust right".
My only problem is getting my envious husband out of it so that I can paddle.

After chatting with the online support, who was very helpful and patient, I decided on the Chelan. The rigid feel of this kayak is what I had hoped for. Being on the heavy side I needed something that wasn’t going to tip. I’ve been out fishing and the rod holders held up well. It’s very easy to manoeuvre and paddle in a straight line.

Couldn’t be happier with my Chelan Kayak. Tracks beautifully and is comfortable to sit in. Only took a few mins to pump up with the hand pump. Looking forward to more paddling this weekend.
