I haven’t gotten this beauty out on the water yet - still collecting PFDs and paddles and everything else we will need. But I am in love! If there’s a more sturdy, well-made, cleverly engineered inflatable kayak out there I’d like to see it. It is so much bigger than I could have imagined. Plenty of room to take the kids or the dog with me, plenty of room for gear so we can go on little overnight expeditions. I can see this kayak will be my treasured possession for many years to come.

It is easy to set up and pack, comfortable and easy to paddle. Good for the kid too. The only negative point is that it is too heavy to be moved as backpack. It would have been better if the pack had wheels.

We purchased the Aquaglide Chelan Tandem 155 DS Tandem 2-3 Person Inflatable Kayak Package from "River to Ocean" a few days ago. Delivery was lightning-fast, the product is excellent and the customer service we received was outstanding.

While the backpack is a little heftier than anticipated, the setup and packing up again was uncomplicated, and the kayak handles like a dream. So excited for all the future adventures to be had in this beauty

Absolutely loving our new Chelan tandem 155. Once we realised the pump was still okay when it started making a different louder noise, we managed to get this thing inflated and set up super quickly. Second setup took only 10mins. I’ve been out on Sydney Harbour in different types of kayaks before and this one rides beautifully. It’s easy and enjoyable to paddle and handles all the different types of swells with ease. Love the flexibility of seat placement and a slightly higher seat for two of us with not the best knees. Our only negatives are really minor - the fin screw as everyone has said is fiddly and could be easily lost and it would be great if the bag had wheels instead of just being a backpack (it is heavy)! Other than that it’s been a wonderful experience both on the water and liaising with rivertooceanadventures who provided super helpful and quick advice.

After much research into inflatable kayaks we finally decided on purchasing the Aqua Glide Chelan 155. Coming from a traditional hardshell construction kayak to an inflatable was not an easy decision to make. It took just 3 working days to be delivered to us in Qld. The compact nature of the Chelan when packed is clear. Unboxing and inflating was easy. I used the Aquaglide Double Action Hand Pump, (although we also purchased a 12V pump). Inflating the seats was easy. More importantly will it pack back down as promised?
Well yes it did plus some...it went back into the back pack easily, along with the two inflatable seats, the 3rd seat, footrests, skeg, double action handpump, our PFD's as well as our doggy PFD with paddles on the side and sits comfortably on the shoulders.
We cannot wait now to get out on the water to test the kayak.

I've had the kayak for about 3 weeks now and travelled about 100km in it both by myself and with the kids as passengers (they won't paddle...). I've had it up to 8.6km/h briefly but have maintained 6.6km/h for 20km. I can set it up in about 15mins by using an electric pump set to turn off when the preset pressure is reached so I can put seats in etc. while it's inflating. I haven't tried it in the ocean or in a decent river yet but expect it will perform well in both. Folding up is quick and easy, it does take some practice and aggressive folding to get it into the backpack, when you get it right it fits in with plenty of room left over. I videoed unpacking it the first time as a reference but that method doesn't seem very practical. The backpack is great too. The fin attachment is a bit fiddly and I'll buy an extra screw thing as it'd be very easy to lose. I haven't found anywhere yet to buy attachments for the floor mounted universal mounts.
